Pleasure Beach
This famous Blackpool amusement park and resort is not only lots of fun for all ages, but it’s also an important piece of Blackpool history. It’s been around for more than a century, and while the rides, events and attractions have changed, it’s still a must for anyone hitting the main sites in the popular seaside hotspot. The latest addition is a Nickolodeon Land, a children’s theme park. Pleasure Beach is located near the South Pier.
Fleetwood
This seaside town near Cala Gran is at the top of the Fylde peninsula, and has a quieter setting than Blackpool if you want to set a more relaxed pace to your caravan holidays. Find lovely souvenirs to take home at Fleetwood Market, which has been operating since the 19th century and is one of the largest covered markets in the Northwest. Learn about local fishing history at the Fleetwood Museum, and take a leisurly walk through The Mount, a seafront-facing park that was built on a sand dune.
What better way to spend a warm, sunny day than by taking the kids to a fun waterpark in Blackpool? There are water slides, wave pools and other aquatic amusements for all ages, plus arcades and shops that sell swimming equipment.
Farmer Parrs Animal World
This family attraction in Fleetwood is right next to Cala Gran. You can see traditional farm animals as well as more exotic species, and there’s train and tractor rides, animal shows, a pottery studio, the Country Life Heritage Museum and plenty of outdoor picnic areas.
Blackpool Circus
Blackpool caravan holidays have to involve a trip to the iconic Blackpool Tower! Located in the building underneath is the Tower Circus, a spectacular two-hour show with lots of thrills and sensational acts. Performance dates are during the summer and autumn.
